2026 Mission Project:
Creative Arts Studio
Visual Arts • Music • Dance
Goal: $20,000
Creating Sacred Space for Expression, Healing, and Joy
This year's project is to transform the current music room at the Lydia Patterson Institution into a vibrant, multi-use Creative Arts Studio. It will be a space where LPI students in grades 7 - 12 can safely explore their God-given gifts through art, music, and dance.
The arts are keys to our souls, and nothing lifts our spirits more than expressing our God-selves through creating art. Thus, for many of the students LPI serves, creative expression is more than an activity — it is a pathway to healing. Art will give them a voice to express unspoken stories. Music will bring comfort and connection. Dance will give them confidence and joy in their bodies. In summary, the dedicated space will nurture imagination, build self-worth, and encourage community.
The renovation will replace the existing carpet with durable flooring suitable for dance and movement, allowing students to develop spiritually as they fully engage in expressive arts programming. The project also will provide organized, secure storage for musical instruments and art supplies, ensuring that the space will continue to serve as an area that is both functional and inspiring.
The United Women in Faith Creative Arts Studio will stand as a testament to what happens when we invest in youth — creating room not only for creativity, but for transformation.
