Standing Rules

We are all part of the new and growing Horizon Texas Conference United Women in Faith family, coming together as sisters who have developed different traditions over the years. For months members from all three conferences met as our Unification Team. The process has involved many more members in committees and more in sub-committees.

An important task was developing the Standing Rules for our new Horizon Texas Conference UWFaith. These are a tool to help us work together with clear policies as we do our business of learning, building community and mission. The rules define the administrative functions and procedures for putting our UWFaith Bylaws into effect at the conference level, including financial obligations to and from the officers, structure and responsibilities, programming, and protocol in official business to clarify the needs of the Horizon Texas Conference. As in the past, adaptations will be made as we learn about our resources, talents, and needs.

At the November 9th meeting these Standing Rules were presented, discussed and approved. What you see is the final version.

2025 will be a test year for the Standing Rules in the areas of expenses, reimbursement, and planning events as our revenue naturally fluctuates. Each Article must consider the availability of funding and the practice of good stewardship of our funds until a precedent is set over the next few years. As a living document, amendments may be considered annually.
